SIMPLE MACHINES PROJECT

Simple Machines Reflection
An inspiration for my projects were the 2 for 1 items (where one item can do multiple tasks) . Since my simple machine was one whole item that could do two things ,it could be a ping pong launcher and a coin flipper. My design was based of off an ordinary slingshot because of how it can shoot something out in many directions and not just one ,because of this mechanic I thought it would be great for multitasking. The 3 simple machines that were originally used for this project was an inclined plane , the lever and a screw. What I was most proud of in my project was that it was able to do more than just one simple task. What I was most proud of in my project was that it was able to do more than just one simple task. Most of the challenges I faced when doing this project was the amount of materials we had, making this was really difficult with just cardboard string and some rubber bands. Because finding a good structure to hold the rubber bands was really hard. What I would do differently in this project is I would make the designing process more thought out , for an example; put the exact materials I would use and have a plan just in case it failed. And make the "physics" in my mind more realistic.
If I had an infinite budget and infinite time I would use better materials to make it better and because we I would have an infinite budget I would also plan it out better to make it automatic. The Exhibition was in the middle of a good and bad experience. The reason why I say this is because my project ended up failing , at first was working fine but after demonstrating it a few times the cardboard that held the pencils started getting loose and ended up making the pencils fall off the holes. What I will keep in mind when doing a similar project is to make sure to have a back up plan if the first one fails.
