Introduction My class spent weeks preparing and gathering resources to create a simulation . Something that wasn't even an option when we first began our project. The reason we did this rather than an exhibition or a play was because we wanted to create something that would capture our audience attention not just during festival but after the festival we wanted them to take something away from this project and do something about this issue. This was a success we got an email asking for us to do the simulation again.

My work
Character Sheet In this assignment I was given an article to read (The Dream Boat) and annotate. This article was not only used to learn more about refugees it was also used to create these refugee character sheets. It was difficult transferring the information from the article into this sheet because the article didn't go too much in depth about the person so I had to come up with my own ideas that seemed realistic.
We used similar ones in our actual simulation ( The parents and teachers were given these) so that they could understand the situation some refugees are in. |

THE SIMULATION
In the simulation I was a greek doctor who was born in Syria but moved to the greek island Lesvos (This was way before the Syrian war).My job in the simulation was to help out the refugees who were smuggled from Turkey and take them to Athens where they would be either smuggled or accepted to be taken to Syria. I was asked various questions as to why Greece isn't a place to stay answers were quite simple.( The economy is terrible and many refugees are trapped.Something that I would do differently if we did this project again is to make it more interactive. Something I learned while working in a group was that everyone's opinion is worth listening to , so no need to hold any ideas back even if you don't think it's that great.
