Pre-interview Process
In my opinion watching story corps was the best part of the whole process , they were fun to watch and they provided a lot of help with my questions and the interview itself. It helped me realize that we are trying to create a story and not an interview. After watching these videos we created our questions. My questions were simple but they asked enough to make the person tell a small story. After making these question we started practicing interviewing with others this was also fun because it put us in the interviewee's shoes.
The Interview
I decided to interview my dad and because he comes home so late I decided to do the interview in his room so he could be comfortable. At first the interview was a bit awkward because I didn't know how to start it. After asking a few questions I started getting more and more into it. It was as if I was just talking to him rather than asking a series of questions.

This is my interview outline. This is where I wrote what my interviewee said and at what time they said it , this was so I can organize it and have the interview on paper. This helped out in a process where we had to cut the interview up and pick out our favorite pieces of it.

This is our script outline , it's the result of breaking up the interview and taking out key parts of it.It helped us make the interview sound more like story.

Reflection
1.The reason why i wanted to my dad was because I wanted to know more about my roots. I wanted to know his motives for leaving his home city and country.
2.I learned that the reason he left was so he can help his family and wanted to only move there for a few years. He stayed there for more than 20 years.I also learned that he met my Mother in his work at Jack in The Box
3.At first they felt really nervous because they English isn't his native language. But as time went on he felt more and more comfortable speaking English
4.Probably my Mother or my older brother because I want to know more about how they think , why my mother can always be positive in bad times.
